The dates for Swaziland's biggest cultural event have been announced and a hive of colourful activity will soon descend upon the country in the form of the festival known as 'Umhlanga' or Reed Dance. The Festival is set to start on the 29th of August, with the main day (Day 7) set to take place on Monday 4th September. It will be on this day when the main ceremony occurs, with the dancing attended by the King signaling a public holiday in Swaziland.

A total of 5 000 people, from all walks of life, are set to conquer Swaziland's Sibebe Rock this Sunday (9th August), at the annual Sibebe Survivor. A male cockroach from the genus and species of Zuluia Deplanata has been identified for the first time by a visiting entomologist at Mabuda farm. Len de Beer and his son Jonathan found the cockroach in the Muti Muti Conservancy in the Lubombo Mountains. As soon as they found out what a big discovery this was they contacted several cockroach experts who had a difficult time identifying the species.
